Artist Statement :
After graduating from Virginia Commonwealth University with a degree in English Education, Steve decided to ditch his plans for fame and fortune in academia and decided to return to school to learn absolutely everything he could about Photography. His chosen institute of higher learning: the Brooks Institute of Photography in Santa Barbara, California.
Three years later, head practically swimming with more information on apertures, lighting ratios and darkroom alchemy than any human should be subjected to, he returned to Virginia. Many more years, and many adventures later, Steve decided the time had come to display his Southwest Landscapes in a gallery at Art Works.
