Morg
Og Barn - Moeder en Kind - Mother and Child
by Christaphora Robeers and Erik Leise
 |
Christophora
Robeers and Erik Leise
are mother and son. This exhibit was created over a thirteen month
period and is a double dialog between the subjects, a mother and
her child, and the artists, mother and son. Erik Leise photographed
the mother and child while Christophora created sculptures, paintings
and pen and ink drawings of the subjects. |
 |
As
put by Christophora in the gallery talk, the subject mother is
Swedish and she was comfortable with nudity. The exhibit captures
important moments of the changes during pregnancy as well as meaningful
circumstances in the subject mother's life. For example, a standing,
statuesque painting of the mother holding the infant child is
a favorite of hers as during the time she posed for the painting,
her own mother was able to stand and walk after battling an illness.
Guests at
the opening of the show wrote notes of advice and well wishes
to the mother and baby girl, a European tradition. These notes
will be sent to the family who now resides in Los Angeles.

Walking
Richmond Alleys by Suzanne
Starseed
|

Suzanne started this project as
a photography documentary of Richmond alleys. However the found
objects became as fascinating as the images. She and her friends
transformed their dumpster diving finds into artwork and statements.
