Spring
Happenings at Art Works by the River!
Art Works is
only 4 blocks from the James River, so we celebrated spring with our usual
events and some special "rivah" events, too .
Bad
Shad and Matt's Mixed Metals by Matt Cross, Tom Blunt
and Linda Barnett
was a special
exhibit of shad fish and other sea creatures for the Earth Day, James
River Fish Festival, Walk & Roll Festival on April 22. Matt Cross's
work is made from recycled metal. Tom Blunt crafts his colorful artwork
including a "bad shad" and "shad spawning trip"
from wood and found objects. Linda Barnett created a representation
oil painting of entitled "Shad Fish" for the event.
The
All Media Show
was juried
by Christaphora Robeers features Virginia artists as well as national
and international entries.
Recent
Works of Anne Krawitt
Anne is an
accomplished American painter living in France. She flew into Richmond
to share her work and greet visitors on opening night, March 24th.

Virginia
is a Richmond artist has traveled the world to bring us landscapes
in oil. Her works were on exhibit in the Centre Gallery, West.
New
Works of Krishanna Spencer
Kris exhibited
assemblage, collage and encaustics art in the Centre Gallery East.
Krishanna, born in California, now lives in Richmond and is active
in the art community.

Community High School Senior Portraits by Mary Alice
Weis
Mary Alice
Weis, art teacher at the Richmond Community High School presented
an exhibit of the 2006 Senior Class. Ms. Weis painted portraits of
each Senior in the class. The students, their friends and family were
at the reception.
Ocean
by Gloria Clifford
Gloria is a
Richmond artist. Her work is in oil and watercolors. She presented an
exhibit in the Skylight Gallery featuring the sea and its creatures.
Valerie
Kay provided music and song for the evening.
