Jan Hodges - Fiber and Paper Artists

Jan has been a part-time artist for many years and have been a professional artist since April 2001. Her prior careers include marine scientist and pastry chef. This varied background has resulted in a wide range of experiences which are incorporated into her artwork.

She believes that the world is a beautiful place and that human beings are fascinating and amazing creatures. And as an artist, she has a responsibility to reflect these qualities in her work. Jan uses imagery from the natural world but prefers to suggest these images rather than depict them directly. Bright colors, brilliant light, and vivid contrasts are essential to her well-being and artistic expression.
