What
are All Media Gallery Shows? - The All Media Gallery Shows are monthly, juried art shows where all medium types are accepted.
- What mediums are acceptable?
- Anything goes! This includes two and three dimensional works including but not limited to: paintings, drawings, photography, sculpture, pottery, and glass work, collage, metal, stone.
- Who judges the show?
- Shows are judged by an art professional. Art professors, directors, curators and practicing artists are among the many people who judge the shows.
- When are the shows held?
- The All Media Gallery Shows are held every 4th Friday of each month (except December).
- When are the Call-for-entries held?
- The Call-for-entries are held the 3rd Friday and Saturday of the month each month. Bring your work to ART WORKS from noon to 6 p.m. on these days. Check ART WORKS' Calendar for specific dates.
- Are there entry fees?
- Yes, the entry fee is $10 for each piece of work for non-gallery members and $7 for gallery members.. For more information on becoming a gallery member, see Benefits of Being a Gallery Member.
- Are there awards and prizes?
- Three cash prizes are awarded: 1st place $200, 2nd place $100 and 3rd place $50. Honorable mentions are also awarded a ribbon but no cash prize, at this time.
Rules
for Entering Work
- The work must be for sale
- The work must be framed in a professional manner and ready to hang
- Three dimensional work must be ready to be displayed
- When work is sold, it must hang in the gallery until the end of the show. It will be tagged as sold (red-dot)
- ART WORKS, Inc. charges a 30% commission on all sold pieces. Please price your work accordingly.
- Work must be original art by the artist submitting the work.
- Work previously accepted in an ART WORKS All Media Gallery Show may not be submitted again. However, work previously submitted but not accepted into a show, may be submitted again.
- ART WORKS, Inc. takes every precaution to protect entries from damage and loss; however the work is not insured by the art center.
What
are the benefits of being an All Media
Gallery Member? - Reduced entry fees. Entry fees are $10 fo each piece of work for non-members and $7 for members.
- Eligible to participate in the ART WORKS All Media Gallery Member Show. Members submit one piece of work into this show. The show is held in August of each year.
- Eligible to reserve one half of the ART WORKS Centre Gallery for a solo show. See Gallery Member Solo Shows for more details.
- Part of a community of artists that supports the AMG shows through volunteer work.
- How does
one become a member
of ART
WORKS All
Media Gallery?
- Complete an application form and pay the $36 annual membership fee (only $3 per month).
- Volunteer for to help with the shows in some fashion twice yearly.
- Membership runs from September to August.
- Fees are prorated. For example: Someone joining in October will pay $33.
- Gallery Members who have had their work accepted in three shows, juried by three different judges, may reserve half of the Centre Gallery for a solo show.
- Reservations are taken on a first come first serve basis.
